It is mid August and the busy season is in full swing! Finding time to blog has been a challenge exceptional! But I just had to get this one in.
I was contacted earlier this year by Kirstin Endemann, a writer with The Ottawa Citizen, to participate in a regular article called “FIVE GREAT PLACES…” The article was “…TO BUY FANCY CAKES”. I was thrilled to be chosen as part of the ‘5’ and even more tickled to find one of my cakes on the cover of Section J of the August 2, 2008 Saturday paper. A BIG THANKS !!!!

I thought I would start my blogging with a something near and dear to my heart.
When asked to make a violin cake recently, I knew it would not be 'just a buttercream' cake. This is a replica of my mother's violin. Maybe a little lighter in colour. Maybe missing some pin-striping. But very much a beautifully recreated 'cake' version of an almost 100 year old work of art. Hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed making it! .... Price of this masterpiece $500.00 and up
